Ways to Increase Office Efficiency

Sometimes the 9-5 grind can really get to you. You end up feeling a little worn out and tired in the office. Your brain seems to be stuck in a little bit of a rut.

However, there are a number of steps to take to help improve the efficiency in your workplace and help you be more productive.

Organise and prioritise your to-do lists

To-do lists are a great way to get yourself focused. Create a weekly list, or even a team list so that you know what you’re working towards for the week. A key thing to remember though, is that you don’t have to cross everything off. Put little stars on tasks that need to be completed that week and focus most of your energy on those.

Avoid micromanaging

The best way to ensure your team gets things done is to let them do it at their own time. Delegate the workload and set a deadline but avoid trying to micromanage. It can come across as too controlling and that you don’t trust their ability to do their job. Feeling like this can affect their productivity and efficiency as it makes them less motivated to meet their targets.

Acknowledge others

On the flip side, you do want to make sure that you acknowledge the good work that is being done by your employees. It can be something as simple as a little shout-out about them to the rest of team or buying them a coffee for doing excellent and organised work on projects. When managers and leaders take the time to give recognition it drives performance, growth, and engagement. This shows that leaders are paying attention and are empathetic to what those on the bottom line are going through to help pivot the company’s success.

Exercise

Sitting at a desk all day can be very draining and make the brain really tired. A very simple way to combat this is with desk exercises or a walk around the office. It gives your brain a little break and helps get the blood flowing better to regenerate creativity.

Give yourself/your team some downtime

Sticking to traditional work schedules and routine is actually a damper on productivity. Let your employees have time to take little breaks whenever they need to. One of the best ways to do this is to have a little snacking area — the perfect way to get employees walking about and mingling when they are feeling sluggish.

Plus, Snackwize even has perfectly curated healthy snack boxes that can be delivered straight to your office. A brain boost with high levels of nutritional value to help with that extra kick to get through the day.
